How to Upgrade/Install Windows Media Player.(PC)
You may wish to print these instructions before continuing.

In Windows, LocalPlay utilizes Windows Media Player to play movies. While Media Player comes standard on newer versions of Windows, some older computers do not have it installed, or have an older version that is incompatible with LocalPlay.

For your convenience, we have included a copy of Media Player 7.1 on the LocalPlay Disc.

Installation Procedure:

  1. If you autostarted the LocalPlay Disc, close this window and read the instructions on the Self Test page to install from the CD-ROM.
  2. If you did not autostart the CD-ROM, find the file mp71.exe (or mpfull.exe if you a running Windows 95 or NT4) by double clicking the "My computer" icon, then right clicking the LocalPlay Icon and clicking "open."
  3. Close this browser then double click on the file to install.
  4. Once installed, reinsert the LocalPlay Disc or open it in Windows and double click start.htm.
